| THE ASSOCIATED PRESS The Virginia Department of Corrections dropped plans to end face-to-face visits between death-row inmates and their families yesterday, saying prison officials determined the policy wasn't necessary. The department had planned to require all death-row visits be done via video beginning Sept. 1. Virginia would have been only the second death-penalty state to cut out face-to-face visits.
