Reasons to Oppose the Death Penalty
Virginians oppose capital punishment for a variety of reasons. Some do so on religious or moral grounds. Others are concerned about the possibility of executing an innocent person. Still others believe that the lives of even convicted killers are sacred.
Some Virginia Conservatives believe that the death penalty is an expensive and failed big government program. Other more liberal Virginians feel that capital punishment is hopelessly discriminatory in its application.
