The issue of whether or not capital murder defendant Justin Wolfe should be freed from the Prince William County jail was heard by a federal appeals court this week.
The Virginia attorney general’s office is appealing U.S. District Court Judge Raymond Jackson’s Christmas Eve ruling that ordered Wolfe’s release and barred prosecutors from retrying him on charges stemming from the 2001 death of Daniel Petrole, Jr., who was shot outside his townhouse in Bristow.
